Counseling

The mission of Ridgecrest Elementary School’s Counseling and Guidance Program is to support every student’s social, academic, and emotional growth, preparing them to meet both present and future challenges. Our program provides students with opportunities to understand themselves and others, explore educational and occupational pathways, and begin career planning—all within a safe, caring, and encouraging environment.

Our counselors collaborate with students, educators, parents, and community members to empower each child to reach their full potential as engaged, productive members of society. Integrated as an essential part of the overall instructional program, our guidance services offer students structured support for academic, personal, social, and career development from Kindergarten through fifth grade.

Focus Areas of the Ridgecrest Counseling Program

Our counseling and guidance program is built around four essential areas:

  1. Personal Development

    • Counselors help students develop self-awareness, make healthy choices, resolve conflicts, accept responsibility, and improve self-esteem.
  2. Educational Development

    • Counselors support students in acquiring study skills, setting academic goals, and making choices that align with their interests, abilities, and goals.
  3. Social Development

    • Counselors assist students in building strong interpersonal skills, forming positive relationships with peers and family, and respecting individual differences.
  4. Career Development

    • Students are guided to explore personal interests and aptitudes, form a career identity, and understand how education relates to their future career choices.

Driven by student needs and grounded in data, Ridgecrest’s Counseling and Guidance Program aligns directly with our school’s academic mission, ensuring every child receives meaningful support for lifelong success.
